Most of the props for this production were used as set dressing, however during one of the dinner scenes, breakaway plates were used. At first, I attempted to use Plaster of Paris to create the plates but none of the plates came out consistently and they would break before they were supposed to. Instead, I ended up buying plastic plates and cutting them on the bandsaw. To recreate the full plate, zap-a-gap was used by crew members after each show. The zap-a-gap created a bond with the shards that was easily broken when the plate was smashed against the floor. Each plate and their corresponding shards were numbered for easier gathering.
